This time, Jacky reacts to the depiction of her on the cover of Amy Trevelyne's second book "The Curse of the Blue Tattoo" Wherin Mary "Jacky" Faber, formerly a ship's boy in his majesty's Royal Navy, is now a student in a posh Boston school for young girls. One can assume how well this would go.
As to why Jacky's so distressed at being depicted cavorting on a silver platter, well that's discussed in a recent post to the Jane Austen's World blog, covering William Hogarth's "The Rake's Progress"[link]
Also depicted are renditions of several of the men in Jackaroe's life, two of the Trevelyne family, and one "Flashy" brit who's become a major thorn in Jacky's side!
